What happens when a junk removal service opens up a retail store? You get Remix Market, a new, eco-friendly furniture store in Warrenton with the mission of rediscovering, reimagining and repurposing old furniture to create new pieces for the home.

Founded by Gainesville-based junk removal company The Junkluggers, Remix Market is a resale shop, an upcycling warehouse and a space for creatives to come together to find environmentally friendly solutions for home decor and renovations.

The Junkluggers have been in business since 2004, helping to eliminate reusable waste from landfills and donating and upcycling used home goods with the goal of eliminating 100% of reusable waste from landfills by year 2025.

The Remix Market was opened by The Junkluggers franchise owner Mark Harrington and features gently used and affordable items like antiques, household goods, furniture, outdoor equipment, rare books, collectives, wall art and more.

Plus, sales from Remix Market help to fund the franchise’s 2020 Charity of Choice, Mikey’s Way Foundation and Inova Children’s Hospital.

The warehouse is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., and also offers community workshops on painting, upcycling and other furnishing techniques. For more information, visit facebook.com/remixmarketwarrenton. // 6632 Electric Ave., Warrenton
